VisualCounter.Vision: Architecture

The architecture of this solution allows for hierarchical, distributed, simultaneously centralised and remote integration of traffic information within existing company IP data networks, making it a base platform for easy, low-cost expansion of the system in the future and permitting an unlimited number of devices in any location. This is a competitive advantage vis-à-vis other similar systems.

Traffic information for an access point for one full day translates into a network traffic load of 3KB, meaning that the communications network will not become saturated.

The simplicity of the concept of the solution facilitates installation on a domestic and international scale, in locations that are geographically far from each other. The physical installation can be carried out in the premises by a local installation team, and it can then be configured and managed centrally from the company server at the customer's main offices.

The DHCP module of the devices makes automatic management of a large number of IP addresses possible.

In the case of the version of the device with a GPRS communications module, no data wiring is needed in the stores (thus avoiding the need for Internet connections that are not always present or available), nor is a pre-installation visit necessary. The only thing that is needed is a power connection in the access zone. The data is not stored at the "Point of Sale", but sent over the GPRS network to a central server where it can be consulted. This facilitates centralised management of independently-functioning stores that are geographically far apart. The daily volume of data for each store on the GPRS network is very small (less than 50kb), which means that low-cost communications with any telephone network provider are possible.
